BELOIT - Bethel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, 1314 Athletic Ave., Beloit, has community events planned in May.

The church invites members of the community to join them at Summit Park in Beloit to observe the National Day of Prayer at noon on May 2. The goal is to join together people of all faiths and nationalities to unite in prayer for the city, nation and world.

The church will host a Citywide Prayer and Peace March and Rally beginning at 11 a.m. on May 4 in the church parking lot and ending at Summit Park. Those unable to march, can meet at the park at noon for an inter-faith event with pastors and clergy, community leaders, elected officials and music.

For more information, call the church office at 608-365-7947 or email bethelbeloit@att.net. Confirm your participation by Monday, April 29. The events are free and the public is encouraged to attend.
