BYHA offering Try Hockey for Free Saturday

BELOIT - The Beloit Youth Hockey Association is offering local youngsters ages 4-12 two Try Hockey for Free events. The first will be this Saturday and the second will be on Feb. 22, 2020. Both events will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Edwards Ice Arena.

If you would like to pre-register for the event, you can sign up by going to https://tryhockeyforfree.com/ and enter the zip code 53511. then choose the Beloit location. The BYHA encourages pre-registration for this event; however, it is not absolutely necessary, and anyone who comes the day of these events is welcome.

During these events, the BYHA will provide chilrdren with a helmet and a pair of skates. It is recommended that each skater bring a pair of gloves and arrive at least 15 minutes early to get checked in for the event and a proper fitting for the helmet and skates.

If a youngster enjoys the event and wants to take the next step, parents have the option to register their child for the free Beginner program or the BYHA Mite programs. However, first you will need to register him/her online at www.USAHockey.com. Once you have received your USA Hockey Number, you will need to register your child on www.beloithockey.com.

The BYHA has a limited amount of new player "starter kits" that will be available to rent on a first come/first serve basis. These kits will include all the equipment your child requires to play hockey (with the exception of skates). BYHA will charge a $50.00 rental fee for this equipment.
