BELOIT - Beloit College's women's soccer team held with Lake Forest College through one half but ended up falling to the Foresters 3-0 Tuesday afternoon.
The Bucs kept LFC off the board despite facing seven shots in the first 45 minutes of the game. The Foresters kept the pressure on registering nine shots in the second half including three that found the back of the net. The first and eventual game-winner came in the 58th minute.
Beloit goalkeeper Keeper Connor Keegan-Lloyd had seven saves.
• UP NEXT: The Bucs continue to try to get healthy with a few days off before heading north to Appleton, Wisconsin for a morning meeting with Lawrence Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m.
• MUKUCHA HONORED: Beloit's Desire Mukucha, who scored his first two collegiate goals in a 2-0 win over Grinnell Saturday, was named Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
Mukucha posted a goal in each half of the contest. In the 29th minute against the Pioneers, Mukucha managed to get on the end of a long free kick played into the box for the first tally of the game. Then, with six minutes remaining, Mukucha made a great run on a Beloit counterattack, took a pass, cut inside on his right foot and slotted home at the far post. Mukucha registered three shots and scored on both of his on goal opportunities in the game.
Mukucha and the Bucs will be back in action Wednesday hosting Lake Forest e at 4 p.m.
