Turner's runners shine in meet hosted by Knights

BELOIT - It was a solid day at Leeson Park for the Beloit Turner cross country teams, as both the boys and the girls squads came up with victories in a meet hosted by Beloit Memorial.

The Trojans were led by Cooper Moran, who won the boys race with a time of 18:13. Devon Harbison finished in second place with a 19:49, while Michael Cook took third with a 19:51.

Sophie Fulk took home the girls title with a time of 23:53. Lacy Combs, Haley Harris and Brinnley Wilson also medaled for the Trojans.

• VOLLEYBALL: The Hononegah volleyball team easily took down host Freeport Tuesday night, defeating the Pretzels 25-14, 25-10.

The Indians were led by Emma Schroeder's 10 kills while Kelsey Himes had 14 assists and Liv Taylor led the way with six digs.

The Indians will be back on the court Thursday when they play at Rockford East.

• TENNIS: The Beloit Memorial tennis team was shut out at home by Madison West 7-0 Tuesday.

The Knights took just five games total in the seven matches, with the number two doubles team of Yocelyn Camacho and Amanda Quinonez losing 6-1, 6-2.
