BELOIT - The Beloit Snappers have just one more opportunity to avoid being swept on their seven-game homestand after falling 2-1 in 10 innings to Kane County Thursday night.
The Snappers received a pair of outstanding efforts on the mound from Richard Guasch and Aiden McIntyre.
Guasch got the start for Beloit and went four innings and allowed just two hits and one run while striking out eight Cougars.
McIntyre (3-10) took over from there and was terrific in six frames. He was flawless through the first five before allowing an unearned run in the 10th when the Cougars began the frame, as per the Minor League Baseball rule, with a runner on second base.
The runner, Nick Dalesandro, advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on an error by Beloit shortstop Marcos Brito.
The Snappers loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the 10th before Max Schuemann struck out, Devin Foyle popped to third and Nick Osborne popped to first to end the game.
After Kane County scored a run in the first inning, Beloit scored its only run of the game to tie the contest at 1-1 in the sixth when Skyler Weber reached on a Kane County error, allowing Foyle to score.
