CLINTON, Iowa - The Beloit Snappers train kept rolling right on through Clinton Tuesday night, as the team completed a four-game sweep of the host LumberKings with a 7-3 victory.
The Snappers jumped out to a big lead with five runs in the fourth inning. Nick Ward hit an RBI single, Lester Madden followed with an RBI knock of his own before Max Schuemann struck the big blow, cracking his third home run of the season, a three-run shot to center field to make it 5-0.
The Snappers scored twice more in the fourth, with one run coming in on a Clinton error and another coming courtesy of a Devin Foyle RBI single to make it 7-0.
The LumberKKings were held off the board until the eighth inning, when they plated a pair of runs before adding a final tally in the ninth to account for the final score.
Aiden McIntyre was simply fantastic for Beloit on the mound, throwing seven innings of three-hit ball. He walked two and struck out nine to move to 3-8 on the season.
Ward and Foyle paced Beloit's 10-hit attack with two each. The Snappers will head home to host Peoria at 6:30 p.m.
