CHIIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. - The Rock County River Monster's offense disappeared at an inopportune time.

Aasen grounded out to third to end the game. The River Monsters were set down in order by Eau Claire pitcher Carter Hesselman in each of the first five innings before Micah Overley broke the drought by singling to lead off the sixth.

Eau Claire scored the game's only run in the fifth. when Joel Zachow drove home Joe Feck with a two-out single. Saturday, the River Monsters suffered a difficult 4-3 defeat at the hands of Oshkosh.

Rock County got the game off on a fine note when it plated three runs in the first inning. Ovist singled to lead off the inning, Drew Ries added a one-out base hit and Jared Emerson cleared the bases with a three-run homer.

After that, the River Monsters offense shut down, notching only three singles the rest of the way as Oshkosh slowly came back before Colton Clark singled home Elijah Berndt with the winning run in the seventh inning.

In Friday night's game, Ovist went 3-for-4 with a triple as Rock County defeated Marinette 8-5. Micah Overley went the distance and allowed just three earned runs while striking out nine to earn the win.
