MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Parkview senior athlete Alexys Olson capped her prep sports career in style Thursday night at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.

Olson was awarded a $2,500 scholarship at the Wisconsin Sports Awards ceremony, rubbing shoulders with such state sports celebrities as Christian Yelich, Markus Howard and Jonathan Taylor.

A three-sport athlete who participated in cross country, basketball and track, Olson was awarded the scholarship based on her demonstration of outstanding leadership in academics, sports and community involvement.

Olson was a solid performer for the Vikings in both cross country and track, and was a starting guard on Parkview's Trailways Conference-winning basketball team.

Olson will attend Beloit College in the fall, where she will compete in cross country and track and play for the basketball team.
