BELOIT -The Beloit Snappers salvaged the finale of a three-game series with Cedar Rapids Sunday, winning 6-1 at Pohlman Field.

The Snappers rode some clutch hitting and a dominating bullpen performance to the victory, which improved their first-half record to 20-34. The game was knotted at 1-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth when the Snappers erupted for five runs.

Anthony Churlin led off the frame with a single, and JJ Schwarz followed with a base hit.

John Jones broke the deadlock with a single to right to plate Churlin, and Logan Farrar followed with a knock to bring home Schwarz and make it 3-1.

Cobie Vance's single marked the fifth straight of the inning to load the bases. After Ryan Gridley grounded out, RBI singles by Joseph Pena and Lester Madden made it 6-1.

Bryce Conley got the start for Beloit and allowed just one run in four innings. Michael Danielak (2-0) picked up the win by tossing two scoreless frames to lower his ERA to 0.98, while Ty Damron pitched a pair of hitless innings.

Charlie Cerny closed up the game with a routine ninth inning.

Andrew Cabezas (1-5) allowed five runs in five-plus innings.
