They are coached by Robert Bennie, Joe Bennie, John Bucci, Randy Stovall and Jason Brien.

BELOIT - The Bennie Elite baseball teams set the bar high in their first tournament action of the season.

The 10U team captured first place in the Play Ball Golden Egg Tournament at the Stateline YMCA Youth Sports Complex over the weekend while the 11U team was runnerup in its tourney.

The champion 10U team had it all, allowing only three runs in three games while scoring 42. They opened with a 17-3 victory, then won 13-0 as Logan Hendricks, Nolan Schumann and Caleb Parker combined on a no-hitter. They dominated the championship game, 12-0.

Joe and Robert Bennie coached the team along with Dan Blocker and Rick Carlson.

The 11U team opened with a 7-1 victory, then won a 15-7 slugfest as Finn Stovall and Jackson Stahl belted back-to-back home runs. They fell in the championship game, 11-3.

The runnerup team was coached by Joe and Robert Bennie, John Bucci, Randy Stovall and Jason Brien.

The teams both play out of the Bennie Triple Crown Baseball academy located at 15760 Willowbrook Road, South Beloit.
