MADISON, Wis. - Beloit Memorial pitcher Jacey Walker pitched a no-hitter in the Purple Knights' 3-0 victory Tuesday against Madison Memorial.
Walker allowed just two baserunners all afternoon: One on a dropped third strike, and the other on a walk. Walker had 10 strikeouts.
The Knights scored a run in the sixth and two more in the seventh to seal the win.
"Jacey pitched great and our defense played awesome," Beloit coach Jennifer Pozzani said. "Angelique Spencer, Natalie Bittner and Madison Stavn all made plays to rob hits. Jacey got ahead in the count and worked the corners."
It was the first no-hitter of Walker's career.
Gracie Henthorn had two of Beloit's four hits. The Knights, now 3-1 in Big Eight Conference play, host Verona Thursday at the Stateline Family YMCA Youth Sports Complex.
