MADISON, Wis. - Beloit Memorial's Purple Tide swam to improvement in three of its four races at the WIAA Division 1 State Swimming Meet on Saturday.
The 200-medley relay of Anthony Jacobson, Ben Levy, Ben Saladar, and Nathan Sill swam the third-fastest time in school history with a 1:40.01, finishing in 17th place. Jacobson's split of 25.7 was the second-fastest backstroke split in school history, and Ben Levy's breaststroke split was the eighth-fastest.
Ben Saladar's fly split was the 5th fastest in school history.
Saladar's 100 fly of 53.10 was the 2nd fastest in school history as he finished 19th.
The Tide's 200-free relay finished 16th and tallied two points, led by CJ Light's 22.22 split. The rest of the relay included Ben Saladar, Max Saladar, and Sill.
The 400-free relay of Ben Saladar, Light, Jacobson and Sill finished 17th. Two notable splits were Saladar's 48.4 seconds and Jacobson's 48.5 seconds.
