ROCKTON- The Hononegah Indians are taking full advantage of their busy week.

The Indians improved to 15-1 in NIC-10 play with a 76-37 thrashing of visiting Belvidere Wednesday night.

Hononegah, who is scheduled to play Rockford East Thursday and Rockford Boylan in what is essentially the NIC-10's title game Saturday at 5:30 p.m., was led by Jordan King's 34 points.

As is usual, the Indians jumped all over the Bucs early, leading 26-5 after the first quarter before gradually easing the foot off the gas.

Hannah Malcomson scored 17 points for the Indians. King shot the ball extremely well, knocking down five 3-pointers and going 11-for-13 from the foul line.

• BOYS HOOPS: AUBURN 64, HONONEGAH 51: The Knights won their seventh straight game, controlling the Indians from the outset to take the win.

Auburn led 15-11 after the first quarter, took a 33-23 lead at halftime before extending the advantage to 50-33 with a big third quarter.
