Buccaneer men fall to St. Norbert

BELOIT - Despite playing without leading scorer Tristan Shoup, Beloit College didn't roll over for visiting Midwest Conference-leading St. Norbert Tuesday night.

Junior post player Shoup, who recently joined the team's 1,000-point career scoring club, missed the game for unspecified reasons. The Buccaneers couldn't have used his nearly double-double production in a 74-64 loss to the Green Knights at Flood Arena.

SNC improved to 14-1 in the MWC.

The Bucs continued to struggle offensively, shooting 31 percent (9-29) from the field in the first half, including 3-of-15 treys. SNC hit 43 percent and took a 32-22 lead.

Late in the game, Dan Babb and Andrew Walters converted back-to-back 3-pointers to cut the deficit to 69-59 with 2:37 remaining. Matthew Miller's trey cut it to 71-62 with 2:17 left.

The Bucs, however, came no closer.

Babb and Walters tied for game-high honors tallying 16 apiece. Walters hauled in a game-high 10 boards for the double-double and added three assists and four steals. Miller and Scott Olsen combined for 20 points and 10 rebounds.
