MADISON - Beloit Memorial's boys hockey team hung with Middleton Tuesday night, but didn't have quite enough firepower to pull off the Big Eight Conference upset at Capitol Ice Arena.
Beloit led 2-1 after the first period on the strength of goals by Aden Cobbs and Kyle Hanaman. Alec Bishop assisted on the goal by Cobbs.
The Cardinals turned it around in the second period, outscoring the Knights 4-1. Beloit's goal was by Tyler Harrington on assists by Sean McMilland and Brandon Zimmerman, which tied the score at 3-3 at the time. Middleton tacked on two goals in the period and then made it 6-3 in the third.
Jack Baltes and Andrew Chafe each scored twice for Middleton.
The Knights (2-4-0, 0-3-0) got 57 saves from Aidan Wright..
