EDGERTON, Wis. - The Beloit Turner boys trailed by just three points with three minutes to go, but Edgerton closed strong at home to defeat the Trojans 66-53 Thursday night.
Turner (0-2) was led by 16 points from Jordan Majeed. Steve Dillard scored 14 points, including a pair of free throws that closed the gap to three down the stretch.
Edgerton, which led 31-28 at the half, was paced by Brian Rusch's 13 points. Edgerton's 6-foot-8 center Nick Spang scored all 12 of his points in the second half.
• EVANSVILLE 62, CLINTON 29: The Cougars trailed just 22-16 at halftime before the roof caved in for them in the second half.
Tyler Stauss scored nearly half of Clinton's points, finishing with 13 points. Carson Hill led Evansville with 12 points.
• BIG FOOT 59, BRODHEAD 56: The Big Foot boys equaled last year's victory total in conference play with a come-from-behind win over host Brodhead.
The Chiefs trailed by a 25-18 margin at halftime before outscoring the Cardinals 41-31 in the second half.
Logan Eischeid led Big Foot with 22 points, while AJ Courier added 14.
Sophomore Cade Walker continued his strong start to the season with a team-best 18 points while Conner Green finished with 11.
• DODGELAND 68, PARKVIEW 54: The Vikings went just 16-for-33 from the foul as their bid to pick up a road victory came up short.
Parkview trailed 30-24 at half and never regained the advantage in the second half. The Vikings were led by Eli Hoscheit's 14 points, while Adrian Meza had 13.
Dodgeland's Zach Yuenges (29 points) and Seth Christopherson (27) combined for 56 of Dodgeland's 68 points.
