BELOIT- The registration deadline for the Stateline Family YMCA basketball league is approaching shortly.

This year's deadline to get young hoopers into action is Friday, Dec. 7.

The Winter Basketball league features both a Beloit division and a Roscoe division for ages three to 12. The Beloit branch is also offering a girls-only league for those in grade three to six.

There is also a Rookie Program for youngsters ages three to six, which costs $40 for Stateline Family YMCA members, and $65 for non-members.

Cost for the grade-level programs is $63 for YMCA members, and $83 for non-members. The program also offers a $10 discount for families with more than one player.

Financial assistance is available, with the deadline for that application due Friday.

Games in Beloit will take place at either the Beloit Memorial High School fieldhouse, or the Stateline Boys and Girls Club. All grade level teams are formed by schools and will receive full NBA, or in the case of the girls league, WNBA-themed uniforms.

Last year, the league had over 750 participants, and Director of Youth Sports and Recreation LaRon Lofton expects even more this year.

Families may register at either the Beloit or Roscoe branch, or online at statelineymca.org.
