MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Beloit Turner boys basketball team dropped it season opener to Milwaukee Bradley Tech Tuesday night, falling 65-53 on the road.
Senior Steve Dillard hit three 3-pointers on the way to 20 points and DJ Wash added 11, but it wasn't enough as the Trojans couldn't rally from a 36-29 halftime deficit.
Jackson Carter added nine points for the Trojans, who will open Rock Valley Conference play Thursday at Edgerton.
• GIRLS BASKETBALL: BRODHEAD 40, JEFFERSON 33: The Brodhead Cardinals picked up their first Rock Valley Conference win on the road, defeating Jefferson in a defensive struggle.
Brodhead made just 10 shots from the field, but shot 17-for-26 from the foul line while the Eagles went just 9-for-24. Carissa Purdue went 7-for-8 from the stripe and led the Cardinals with 11 points, while Kiara Moe added nine points.
• HONONEGAH 73, BELVIDERE 25: The Hononegah Indians got their NIC-10 season off to a flying start Tuesday when they hammered host Belvidere to improve to 5-0 on the season.
The Indians led 47-13 at halftime and cruised to the win. Jordan King outscored the Bucs by herself, finishing with 26 points.
• ARGYLE 59, PARKVIEW 46: The Vikings fell to Argyle after a difficult second half. Argyle was leading by just three points at halftime but turned up the pressure in the second half, causing several critical Parkview turnovers.
The Vikings were led by Taylor Burrell, who scored 16 points. Kristine Mumm added 11 for Parkview.
• STILLMAN VALLEY 65, SOUTH BELOIT 15: The SoBos fell behind 45-9 at halftime and weren't competitive in a loss to visiting Stillman Valley. Madison Carlson led the SoBos in scoring with four points.
