Nancy Korst, 88, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Beloit Memorial Hospital in Beloit, Wisconsin.
Nancy was born on April 16, 1931 in River Forest, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Katherine (Clinton) Schroeder. She graduated from River Forest High School in 1949 and attended the University of Miami. In 1980, Nancy went back to college and obtained a bachelors degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Nancy married William Horton Korst on May 15, 1954 in Wheaton, Illinois. She spent many years as a homemaker and raising their six children. After the kids were grown and out of the house, Nancy ran her own bookkeeping company out of the family home for over twenty-five years. She unwillingly retired in 2012 due to her health. Nancy was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Beloit where she helped for many years with the annual church rummage sale. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed doing crosswords and reading. She was a member of several book clubs and truly loved getting together every month with her bridge club for over sixty years.
Nancy is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, William "Bill"; children, William "Bill" (Sue) Korst of Mason, Ohio, Paul (Betsy) Korst of Willoughby, Ohio, David (Robin) Korst of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Casey Korst of O'Fallon, Missouri, John (Gary Jendro) Korst of San Diego, California, and Peter Korst of Beloit; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Paul Schroeder; and a sister, Betty Pelgrift.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul Episcopal Church, 212 West Grand Avenue, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511. Inurnment of cremains will follow the service in the St. Paul Episcopal Church columbarium.
