Raymond E. Summers, 74, of Beloit, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Beloit Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 5, 1944 in Beloit, WI, the son of Ralph and Edith (Hammer) Summers. Ray was a 1963 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He was also a graduate of Barber School. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He married Arlene K. Nuciforo on June 8, 1968 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Ray was employed by Hamilton Sunstrand-United Technologies Corp. for 31 years, retiring in 2003. He loved spending time with his family and formed a special bond with his five grandchildren. Ray enjoyed golfing, bowling, and riding his bike. He had a strong Christian faith, preached his faith and lived his faith. Ray, with his wife of 51 years, helped care for his mother-in-law, Kay, for twelve years. He is a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Summers of Beloit, WI; daughters, Kristin (Rob) Marble of Orlando, FL, and Karla (Rich) Raisbeck of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Josh Marble, Sarah Marble, Kevin Raisbeck, Kyle Raisbeck and Jake Raisbeck; brothers, William (OkSoon) Summers of Mililani, Hawaii, Ron Summers of Beloit, WI, and Abe (Geiselle) Summers of New Town ND; sister, Edie (Dwight) Hauri of Beloit, WI; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Ralph and Don Summers; his loving in-laws, Carmel and Kay Nuciforo.
A Memorial service for Ray will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2019 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Reverend Gene Van Galder officiating. Visitation of remembrance will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name at a later date.
