Burns

James Allen Burns, 72 of Orlando, FL, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 after a long illness.

Jim graduated from South Beloit High School, joined the Navy in May of 1966, served alongside the Marines as a Hospital Corpsman, starting with two tours in Vietnam. His 26 year career included service in Cuba, Spain, and was completed after Desert Storm in 1992 as Command Master Chief. He went on to work as a Rehabilitation Director where he met his wife Donna, and finished his working career in 2011 as administrator for the Medical Examiner of Orange/Osceola County, Orlando, FL.

Jim was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, fast-pitch softball, The Chicago Cubs and Bears, and was always the life of the party.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Esther Burns, and his twin sister Rhoda Burns Stafford. He is survived by his wife, Donna; sons Frank and Andrew (Viki), daughter Dawn (Dave), brothers Robert (Lynn) and Todd (Denise). eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life was held in FL, and interment was at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
