John Zwald passed in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 12th with Patti at his side.
He was born April 1, 1935 to John and Caroline Zwald.
John grew up in Lorain, Ohio. After graduation from high school he served in the Navy. Returning home, he and his lifelong friend Dave Leonard entered Ohio State. He went to Merrill Lynch in Chicago and worked there for 20 years. He and Patti bought a home in Beloit in 1989.
He is survived by his wife Patti of 34 years, daughter Lynn Higgins, Mark and Connie Johnson.
Will fondly be remembered by his grandchildren, Margaret Rose and Thomas John Higgins, Erica and John Amenda, Nicholas and Emily Woolf, Graham and Isaac Johnson, also by John and Patti's great-grandchildren, Kregg, Teagan, and Sebastian Amenda. Predeceased by Robert (Susan) Johnson.
Patti and John looked forward to time spent with their family. John thoroughly enjoyed planning special occasions. Holidays and time spent together were carefully thought out. John was considerate of everyone.
When Patti and John moved to Beloit, they invited their neighbors to their home to learn about the community. Patti prepared the menu and their home. John, master of entertainment, planned the music, card games, and teams. Making sure he was on the winning team. Toward the end of the evening, he enjoyed sharing a little harmonizing. Then family and friends were given a grateful and sincere thank you. He will be missed and remembered with a smile.
The Celebration of John's Life will be held at the Pavilion at The Rock in Beloit, WI. We look forward to sharing memories with friends in his honor June 14th at 11:30 a.m.
