Formerly of Beloit - Robert I. Disch, 88, passed away May 5, 2019 at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Home. He was born Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1930, at home in Albany, WI to Henry and Cecile (Anderson) Disch. A proud Navy Veteran who enlisted during the Korean War from 1948-1952, he served on the USS Fargo and USS Vulcan as an electrician. Bob worked for Warner Electric for 30 plus years. He enjoyed horse racing, gambling, bingo, and bird watching. He was also an avid Wisconsin sports fan, who enjoyed watching the Badgers, Brewers and Packers.
Bob is survived by his children, Michael (Lisa) Disch, Randy (Carol) Disch, Steve (Carrie) Disch, and Cathy Disch (Scott); his step-children, Jeff (Maria) Williams, Jim (Elke) Williams, Jill (Robert) Morgan, Scott (Laurie) Williams, Leanna Stenberg (Ed), and Lynette Mattson (Tommy); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings, Rex (Ila), Daryl (JoAnn), and Becky (Dennis).
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Raymond, Charlene, Donald, and Roger. And also, by his loving partner of 25 years, Janice Stenberg, in December of 1997.
A heartfelt thank you to Tommy Beiter; Bob's friend, caregiver, and partner-in-crime. Your dedication to Bob's care over the last 15 years didn't go unnoticed. A special thank you to the staff of Aurora Hospice and the staff of the Veterans Home for their kind and compassionate care.
Funeral service for Bob will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 in Milton Lawns Memorial Park, 2200 Milton Avenue, Janesville, WI. Burial will follow, with Military Honors accorded by the V.F.W. Post #2306.
