Avakian

Donna Gaille Avakian, 87, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019. Entering into a beautiful purple Heaven.

Donna was born on January 12, 1932 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, the daughter of Mark and Myra (Langendorf) Inks. She lived her entire life in Beloit, WI. Donna graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Floyd Andrews and together they raised their 3 children. Donna later married Jerry Avakian.

Her love of children was evident in her career over the years. After being a stay at home mom she joined the workforce where she was always surrounded by children whom she loved and they loved her. She managed her own day care for many years and later joined the Beloit School system as a teacher's aide, where she worked with special needs children, retiring at the age of 83. Donna was also a member of the Sweet Adeline's for many years. Her greatest love, however, was for her own children and grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than to spend time with them. She had a way of making each one feel special.

Donna is survived by a loving family and the people who meant the most to her included her children, Cheri (Alan) Gibeaut of Endeavor, WI, Stephen (Tina) Andrews and Mark (Sharon) Andrews both of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Melody (Randy) Thompson, Jennifer (Daryl) Loveland, and Joshua (Shelley) Andrews; great grandchildren, Evan Richard, Eliot Richard, Allison Thompson, Jackson Andrews, William Andrews, and Natalie Andrews; brothers, Wayne (Ann) Inks of NC, and Duane (Linda) Inks of IN; many nieces, nephews, friends including her best friend, Goldie, and her dog, Harley her faithful companion.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses, CNA's, doctors and surgeons at Beloit Memorial Hospital and Beloit Regional Hospice for their exceptional care given to Donna during the last two weeks of her life. Their loving and compassionate care is most appreciated.

Donna took joy in the simple things in life. The color purple being one of her simple joys and it was an expression of her unique personality. If you are attending her service, the family request that you wear something purple in her honor.

Funeral service for Donna will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor David Meding officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation of remembrance will be from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
