J.D. Miller, 83, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Sun Valley Terrace in Beloit.
J.D. was born on June 5, 1935 in Pontotoc, Mississippi, the son of Joe and Ora Lee (Jackson) Miller. In May of 1956 he married the former Willie Lee Eubanks and later married Alma "Michi" Lyles. J.D. attended Pontotoc High School. He was employed at The Wagon Wheel Resort in Rockton, Illinois, Fairbanks Morse in Beloit, the City of Beloit Sanitation District, and retired from the Rock County Highway Department.
J.D. enjoyed hunting rabbits and squirrels, playing billiards, gambling, shooting dice, watching wrestling and boxing events, and watching western television shows and movies. He will fondly be remembered for roasting his own peanuts, making turtle soup, and putting on his headphones so he could listen to his favorite music artists: Tyrone Davis, Barry White, and Johnny Taylor.
J.D. is survived by his daughters, Lynda M. Mason of Beloit, Laura L. "The Laura Miller Show" Miller of Eloy, Arizona, Vicky D. Miller, and Cynthia L. Miller both of Beloit; like a daughter, Anthonieshia Lyles of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother, Willie "Bebo" (Pauline) Miller of Madison, Wisconsin; sister, Daisy (LaVern) Golden of Beloit; second wife, Alma "Michi" Lyles-Brings of Menominee Falls, Wisconsin; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, John D. Miller, and Johnny B. Wardlaw; former wife; Willie Lee Miller-Fitzpatrick; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; a great-grandson; sisters, Virt Golden, and Bernice Miller Johnson; and like a brother, Junior Miller.
