Man injured in Beloit shooting incident

BELOIT -A man was hospitalized early Sunday after suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound in Beloit.

At around 5:15 a.m. Sunday, a male subject was shot in the 900 block of Keeler Avenue, according to the City of Beloit Police Department.

A suspect was not immediately located, but Sgt. Ryan Flanagan said the community is not in danger. Police have not immediately determined a motive in the shooting.

Flanagan said the incident did not appear to be random, and officers were still interviewing witnesses and victims. An investigation is ongoing.
