More than 1,000 without power in northern Illinois

SOUTH BELOIT - A power outage affecting about 1,060 customers has been reported in northern Illinois.

About 1,000 Rock Energy Cooperative customers are without power on one of the hottest days of the year.

Communities affected by the power outage include South Beloit, Rockton and Roscoe.

Crews are trying to restore power. It is not known when power will be restored, according to a recorded message on the Rock Energy phone line.
