JANESVILLE - A Janesville man wanted in connection with a gunfire incident on July 4 was taken into custody Wednesday by U.S. Marshals Service officials in Mesa, Arizona.

Antonio D. Sims, 39, faces possible charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, recklessly endangering safety and obstructing/resisting an officer, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.

Janesville police were called to the 500 block of South Academy Street at about 11:47 p.m. on July 4 to investigate a report of a dispute.

Sims reportedly left the area, but returned.

When officers told him he would be placed under arrest, he reportedly fled and fired three shots into the air as he fled.
