JANESVILLE - Albert "Al" Funk, Sandra Kraft and Tom Presny will be inducted into the Rock County Hall of Honor during ceremonies set for 6 p.m. June 19.
The Rock County Hall of Honor Committee and the Education, Veterans and Aging Services Committee recommended the three individuals for induction in the ceremony that will be held at Hyatt Smith Hall, UW-Whitewater at Rock County, in Janesville.
Sandra Kraft has been involved with animal causes for many years before being elected to the Rock County Board of Supervisors in 2000. She served as the county board's vice-chair from 2008 to 2018. She was instrumental in starting the annual Rock County Rabies Clinic with her involvement with the Friends of Noah organization. She was Town of Fulton Treasurer from 1986-1993, Clerk/Treasurer from 1993- 2000 and Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Evansville from 2000 - 2005.
Alfred Funk has served on the Rock County Veteran's Service Commission since 2002. He led the American Legion Post #205 as Post Commander in the 1950s, 1960s, 1980s and 1990s. He also chaired a number of state American Legion Committees. He started the long-running Rock County Youth Government Day sponsored by the American Legion Post #205. In addition, he has provided numerous volunteer hours for the Wisconsin School for the Blind, Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell Ringer, Seeds of Hope-Special Olympics and Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll campaign.
Tom Presny has been involved in the Janesville Kiwanis Club and St. John Lutheran Church and has been active in the parks and recreation. Presny served over 20 years on the Rock County Parks Advisory Committee and was instrumental in organizing the Friends of Rock County Parks. He also assisted in organizing the Friends of Turtle Creek, Gathering Place Fishing Club and was a board member of the Gathering Place Senior Center.
The Rock County Hall of Honor was established in 1982 to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the people of Rock County.
