BELOIT - Beloit police have identified the victim in the April 14 shooting at Rooney's Pub and Grub.
Terey A. Vance, 36, of Beloit, was shot multiple times while in the bar shortly before 1 a.m. on April 14 at the bar at 65 Portland Ave. As of Monday afternoon, no suspects have been named by authorities.
Owners of the bar told the Beloit Daily News in the wake of the shooting that employees had reported a group of black males came into the bar the previous evening following a comedy show.
The men, who no one recognized as having been in the bar previously, appeared to be targeting another man who they later shot outside of the bar in the beer garden.
City Manager Lori Curtis Luther confirmed to the Beloit Daily News last week the Alcohol and Beverage License Control Committee requested representatives from Rooney's meet with the police department to discuss "increasing numbers of calls for service."
Luther said the department will meet with Rooney's staff to review all calls for service, including the April 14 shooting, "to determine if a recommendation for sanctions or other action is appropriate."
Anyone with information about the shooting or the vehicle is asked to call 608-757-2244, or the Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers at 608-362-7463 or submit a tip online at www.p3tips.com.
