Another shooting suspect charged

Biffle

JANESVILLE - An additional suspect has been charged in connection with the Aug. 1 Beloit shooting that injured a 15-year-old and 41-year-old.

Deantionio M. Biffle, 27, of Janesville, appeared in Rock County Circuit Court on Wednesday and is charged with party to the crime of attempted first-degree intentional homicide for his alleged role in the Aug. 1 Oak Street shooting.

According to court records, Biffle was identified by two witnesses who said they believed he was involved in the shooting. Guns were also recovered by police following the shooting and linked to the incident.

Biffle is also charged in an August vehicle chase in Janesville and faces second-degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of a firearm by a felon. The chase was tied to the shooting investigation after officers responded to the area of Lincoln Elementary School after a tip came in placing Biffle in the area.

Deangelo M. Thomas, 21, of Rockford, is also charged in the Aug. 1 shooting. Thomas was charged on Aug. 6 with party to the crime of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and robbery from the incident, obstructing an officer and possession of a firearm by a felon. Thomas has pleaded not guilty to the charges and the case remains pending.
