Former newspaper publisher receives honors

Photo by Stephanie Klett Retired Beloit Daily News Publisher Kent Eymann was inducted into the Newspaper Hall of Fame in ceremonies in Madison on Thursday night. Eymann began his career at the newspaper in 1992 and retired as publisher in July 2019. During his tenure the Beloit Daily News became a leader in digital content and marketing, and was recognized for many industry awards, including being named Wisconsin's best mid-size newspaper by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association in 2019. Inducted with Eymann were the late Elliott Maraniss of the Capital Times and Susan Shemanske, retired sports editor of the Racine Journal Times.
