BELOIT - Asbestos remediation at McNeel School Tuesday is anticipated to be completed today, according to information from Executive Director Business, Human Resources and Operations JoAnn Armstrong.
The remediation is a mastic which is the glue that holds down the tile to the concrete. There will be a negative air filtration machine as well as two sealed zones for the one room that is being done. There is absolutely no danger of contamination, Armstrong said.
"As always, the district has followed all state guidelines and procedures for the remediation. Our contractor Independent Environmental Services has a long standing relationship with the district and has successfully handled remediation for the district in the past," Armstrong said.
