Clinton man arrested on suspicion of sixth OWI

BELOIT - A Clinton man has been arrested on suspicion of his sixth operating while intoxicated (OWI) offense after a crash on Sunday evening in Beloit, according to command staff.

Michael C. Daugherty, 46, crashed a vehicle at the Merrill and Division intersection in Beloit after driving through a yard in the area, according to Beloit police.

Daugherty allegedly fled the scene and hid from police in a bush near the crash, police said.

No injuries were reported from the incident, according to command staff.

An OWI is a felony in Wisconsin upon the fourth offense.
