BELOIT - Beloit police assisted the Rock County Sheriff's Office in arresting a Beloit man who fled from a traffic stop on Thursday morning, according to authorities.

Stephan J. Ross-Traylor, 23, fled a deputy near Oak and Middle streets around 10:45 a.m. in a vehicle before fleeing on foot around Garfield Avenue. Beloit police assisted and arrested Ross-Traylor and recovered evidence of drug dealing and a handgun by retracing steps he had taken in the foot chase, according to command staff. He was arrested on the possible charge of fleeing and Beloit police say they will discuss possible charges of carrying a concealed weapon and drug possession with the Rock County District Attorney's Office.
