Police: Man arrested for illegally carrying gun

BELOIT - A Beloit man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly carrying a handgun without a permit, according to Beloit police command staff.

Jermaine L. Hardnett, 21, was stopped by officers at around 5:27 p.m. on Tuesday in the 500 block of Moore Street after residents in the area informed police Hardnett was armed. He was taken into custody on possible charges of resisting arrest, multiple arrest warrant commitments and a concealed carry violation, according to police.
