Welty Environmental Center to get grant

BELOIT - The Friends of Welty Environmental Center has been chosen to receive a Joint Effort in Tourism (J.E.T.) grant.

The Friends of Welty Environmental Center is being awarded $2,556 to promote its Anniversary Celebration. This event is scheduled for Oct 18 and 19 at several locations in Beloit including Welty Environmental Center, Big Hill Park, Apple Hut Orchard and Beloit College, according to a news release from Visit Beloit.

The intent of the J.E.T. grant program is to assist other not-for-profit organizations in developing and marketing events and activities that have the potential to attract visitors to the Beloit region, as well as enhance a visitor's experience and improve the quality of life for those who live in the Beloit area.
