BELOIT - Dr. Eric Boynton has been named provost and dean of Beloit College. He will begin his new role in June.
As provost and dean, Boynton will oversee all college operations directly pertaining to academic programming, faculty and academic administration.
This includes maintaining the academic standards of curriculum, supporting faculty throughout the course of their career and encouraging high academic performance for all students.
He has nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, most recently serving as the chair and professor of philosophy and religious studies at Allegheny College, which is a coeducational liberal arts college in northwestern Pennsylvania. He also served as the director of interdisciplinary studies, director of the honors program and chair of black studies. Boynton has been at the institution since 2002.
