TOWN OF BELOIT - A man wanted in Colorado was arrested Tuesday after a stand off with police, according to the Town of Beloit Police Department.
Walter M. Kolak, 52, was arrested after officers were called to the 1900 block of Dewey Avenue in reference to a verbal disturbance. Officers arrived on scene at 1:23 p.m., and learning Kolak was wanted on warrants for failure to appear in court, felony menacing with a real or simulated weapon, felony weapons possession, assault and recklessly causing injury.
Kolak retreated in an RV trailer behind the home and he refused to come out for over 2 hours. Due to the close proximity of the Head Start preschool, it was placed on lockdown.
The Rock County Sheriff's Office, Rock County SWAT and Beloit police were on scene.
