ROCKFORD - Winnebago County has collected more than $12 million in outstanding court fines and fees in the last six years.

State's Attorney Joe Bruscato announced the partnership with Harris and Harris Ltd has resulted in a total of $12,168,000 being collected.

In December of 2011, the county contracted with Harris & Harris. In addition to efforts to enforce fines and fees, programs including tax return intercept have been used.

This partnership is cost neutral to taxpayers, because the scofflaws pay.
