ROCKFORD - The community is invited to celebrate the holiday season by experiencing the annual All Aglow lights exhibit that begins Nov. 29 and runs through Jan. 6 at Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens, 1354 N. 2nd St., Rockford.
Visitors will enjoy the thousands of holiday lights and evergreen displays inside the warm tropical conservatory as well as throughout the outdoor grounds, extending from Ethel Avenue into the Eclipse Lagoon area and the tea house gardens.
Lighting displays in the outdoor gardens will be lit from dusk to dawn daily. Regular fees apply for admission to the indoor Conservatory.
Also, during the first part of December, rail-based Trolley Car 36 will transform into the festively-decorated All Aglow Express on the south end of the Conservatory grounds to take passengers on a ride to the "North Pole" to hear the story of The Polar Express while enjoying cookies and hot cocoa.
Rides are scheduled at 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, 7, 8, 14, and 15. Tickets on the All Aglow Express include admission to Nicholas Conservatory. Reserved tickets are available only in person at Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens or by calling 815-987-8858. Early reservations are encouraged.
