Interfaith Council plans Thanksgiving program

ROCKFORD - The Rockford Interfaith Council will host the 31st Annual Interfaith Program at 3 p.m. on Nov. 24 at Fisher Memorial Chapel, Rockford University, 5050 E. State St., Rockford.

Music will be provided by Dorothy Paige Turner with the Council Choraleers, pianist Sharon Whitlock and other invited guest performers. Stanley Campbell, director of Rockford Urban Ministries, will speak about the "History of Interfaith in Rockford." Campbell was one of the co-founders of the Rockford Interfaith Council in 1988.

This year the Interfaith Council will present two scholarships "Kanwal Prashar International Peace Award" to an individual or organization that has made strides for peace in the community. A free will offering will be taken to be used as an award for next year's winner. Refreshments will be provided after the service.
