Hot Diggity Dog event set for Sunday at Klehm

ROCKFORD - Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden, 2715 S. Main St., Rockford, will present the 10th Annual Hot Diggity Dog Festival from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday at Klehm's Fountain Garden.

The Hot Diggity Dog Festival features local pet-related vendors, including adoption agencies, pet therapy programs, pet boutiques, grooming and more.

Guests are encouraged to bring their pooch out to enjoy the festivities and sign up for the annual Doggy Costume Contest at 2 p.m.

Entertainment will include live canine demonstrations by the Rockford Police Department K-9 Unit, the Forest City Dog Training Club and the Rockford Fire Department with Epi the Arson Dog.

Steve Summers from 95.3 The Bull will be hosting a live radio broadcast from noon-2 p.m. Food and drink will be available for purchase, including beer and wine from Prairie Street Brewing and pizza and gelato from Pizza Fresca.

Tickets will be available at the gate for $8 the day of event. Klehm members and children aged 4-12 are $5 each, while children 3 and under are free.

Proceeds from the Hot Diggity Dog Festival support Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden's projects throughout the year, including the development and implementation of a variety of education programs, and maintaining their dog-friendly 155 acres of trails.
