BELOIT - Beloit Public Library and First Class Cosmetology School are teaming up to host their Fourth Annual Reading for Haircuts event that rewards school-aged children with a free haircut for reading while in the stylist chair.

Reading for Haircuts will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Aug. 28 at First Class Cosmetology School, 306 State St., Beloit. The event is open to children ages 5-18. No appointment is required.

Beloit Public Library will provide a variety of books from its collection which children can choose to read while stylists from First Class give them their back-to-school trims for free.

This is a great opportunity for families to benefit two-fold: Their children receive free haircuts in preparation for the beginning of a new school year, as well as extra exposure to reading.
