The Siebel family had their annual family reunion at Leeson Park in Beloit on July 28 with 113 in attendance. This has been a tradition since the 1950's. Herman and Mattie Siebel had 14 children between 1914 - 1938, of which there are three surviving children, Joan Patton, Delores Griep and Janice Olson. There are a total of 38 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, 59 great-great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-great-grandchildren. Most are from the surrounding areas, however many travel from Tennessee, Iowa, Indiana, Georgia, Florida and Arizona. The highlight of the reunion is the raffle. Family members bring mostly handmade items such as afghans, quilts, wooden items, photography, notecards and many other items. These treasures are raffled and the lucky winners go home with an heirloom.
