ELKHORN - The Walworth County Historical Society (WCHS) is bringing back local historian Jim Gibbons for four programs held at 3 p.m. on Thursdays in Heritage Hall, 103 E. Rockwell, Elkhorn.
The first program, "The Mighty Mississippi River," will be on July 18. Gibbons will present historical facts about the river and its influence on everyday lives.
The life of Alexander Hamilton will be highlighted on Sept. 19. Gibbons will follow the life of one of America's most talked about founding fathers from revolutionary soldier to his tragic death. The story of The Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher, will be on Oct. 17 and his final program will be the life of Abraham Lincoln on Nov. 21.
Gibbons is a Marengo, Illinois resident and historian who has made a name for himself teaching the importance of history. Using his passion and strong knowledge of history, Gibbons will offer riveting presentations of life in the past and present.
There is no admission charge to the programs but donations will be accepted.
