Rock County Historical Society to hold Father's Day event

JANESVILLE - The Rock County Historical Society (RCHS) invites visitors to a special Father's Day event, "Beer, Ammo and Artifacts," from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday at the RCHS campus, 440 N. Jackson St., Janesville. The open house will showcase a large collection of historic weaponry, from arrowheads to rifles. Guests may also purchase beer from the Rock County Brewing Company, along with other beverages.

Native American artifacts will be on display at the Tallman Carriage House, while next door at the Lincoln-Tallman House, a variety of weaponry collected by George Kemp Tallman will be showcased.

Tickets are $10 and available in advance online at www.rchs.us/events or by calling RCHS at 608-756-4509. Tickets also will be available at the event.
