Public invited to free Wild Ones program on tallgrass prairie

ROCKFORD - Wild Ones, Rock River Chapter, will feature a program on the tallgrass prairie at 7 p.m. on June 20 at Rock Valley College Physical Education Center PEC0110 (lower level), 3301 N. Mulford Road, Rockford.

"The Tallgrass Prairie: Grocery Store, Apothecary and Love Shop" will be presented by Cindy Crosby, author, compiler or contributor to more than 20 books, most recently "Tallgrass Conversations: In Search of the Prairie Spirit" (with co-author Thomas Dean). Crosby will present interactive stories of prairie ethnobotany, how people used prairie plants throughout history and the potential these plants may hold for the future.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call 779-537-8939.
