BELOIT - The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Beloit held their annual meeting on April 27.
Retiring board members recognized were Deb Fallon, Dorothy Stroud and Lynda Owens.
The Making Democracy Work award was presented to Daksha Howard from Beloit College for her work with high school and college students being involved in voting. Bette Carr received the Joyce Schoenfield Making Democracy Work award for her untiring work in all aspects of LWV.
The program presentation for the meeting was Ruth Kolpack from Justice Overcoming Boarders and Dorothy Harrell from NAACP on "Owning the Problem, the Incarceration Rates in Wisconsin."
