BELOIT - Stateline summer camp providers will gather at the Beloit Farmers Market from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday with information and sign-up opportunities for area families.

Community Action, Inc., City of Beloit, Stateline Boy and Girls Club, Stateline Family YMCA and Welty Environmental Center will have representatives available with brochures and can answer any questions parents have about summer camps.

"We wanted to offer families a one-stop shopping experience," said Welty Executive Director Brenda Plakans. "You can find out about day-long camps, after summer-school care, field trips, swim club and sport lessons all in one day.

The organizations also collaborate with each other in different ways, such as camp pen pals. Campers write letters to each other and get to know kids at various locations. In mid-July, all camps meet for a Summer Camp Olympics to meet their pen pals and enter friendly competition between camps.

Camp information is available on all organizations' websites and sign-up continues into the summer, if families aren't able to attend this event.
